Marshmallow

This is the OG Marshie.

Amongst all the little marshmallows you can find on this blog this is the simplest marshmallow; the original one.

Materials

About 35grams of any white yarn in weight 4
**Optional Pink Yarn for blush
2.25mm hook
Tapestry Needle
2mm Safety Eyes

About The Pattern

The pattern is worked in continuous rounds.
Their is NO turning chains at the beginning of any rows.
The hole at the end is sewn closed by passing the tapestry needle through the front loops of all 7sts.

(__,__)x# = repeat the set of stitches that many times.

**Example: (sc, inc)x6 means repeat (sc,inc) 6 times for a total of 18 stitches.

Marshie Base

Rows 9-16. 56sc         (56sts)

Add the safety eyes to row 15. I placed the first eye then counted 7 sts from the first eye, on the 7th st I placed the second eye.

Rows 17-20. 56sc       (56sts)

Row 21. (6sc, dec)x7   (49sts)
Row 22. (5sc, dec)x7  (42sts)
Row 23. (4sc, dec)x7  (35sts)
Row 24. (3sc, dec)x7  (28sts)
Row 25. (2sc, dec)x7  (21sts)
Row 26. (sc, dec)x7    (14sts)
Row 27. 7dec             (7sts)

Cut a long tail for sewing, fasten off.

Pass the threaded tapestry needle through all front loops only of the remaining 7 sts.

Pull tightly to close, fasten off and hide tail in marshmallow.

Add the pink blush marks the row below the eyes; and if you’d like add a smile and little eye brows.
