Eyes x2
Make 2.
Row 1. 3fsc, 3sc along the other side of the 3fsc (do not turn). (6sts)
Row 2. 6inc (12sts)
Fasten off and sew between rows 43 and 50
I placed the safety eyes off to the right to make it look like the bear is giving a cheeky side glance. But you can place them however you’d like 🙂
I used safety eyes, however if you’re making this for a child under the age of 3. It is NOT recommended that you use safety eyes as they are a choking hazard. Instead you could either embroider the black of the eyes or crochet a small circle and sew the eyes.
If you choose to crochet a small circle:
Row 1. 6sc into MR (6sts)
Fasten off and cut long tail for sewing.
Eyes with safety eyes.
Eyes embroidered with black yarn.
Eyes with black crochet circle.
Ears x2
Make 2 and start with dark brown (DB)
Row 1. 5fscs, 5sc along the other side of the 5fsc (do not turn). (10sts)
Row 2. (Inc, 4sc)x2 (12sts)
Using Dark Brown (DB) and Light Brown (LB)
Rows 3-5. 8sc DB, 3sc LB, 1sc DB
(12sts)
Fasten off, cut long tail for sewing.
Sew between rows 48 and 53 on either side of the head.
I suggest pinning the ears to the head before sewing them. Doing this lets you see the placement of both the ears and lets you adjust if you want to move them slightly.
Snout
Row 1. 6sc into MR (6sts)
Row 2. 6inc (12sts)
Row 3. (sc, inc)x6 (18sts)
Row 4. (2sc, inc)x6 (24sts)
Rows 5-6. 24sc (24sts)
Fasten off and cut long tail for sewing.
Sew to the front of the body between Rows 37 and 45.
Tummy Patch
Row 1. 6sc into MR (6sts)
Row 2. 6inc (12sts)
Row 3. (sc, inc)x6 (18sts)

Row 5. (3sc, inc)x6 (30sts)
Row 6. (4sc, inc)x6 (36sts)
Row 7. (5sc, inc)x6 (42sts)
Cut long tail and sew to front of the body just above the legs. between rows 19 and 34.
Tail
Row 1. 6sc into MR (6sts)
Row 2. 6inc (12sts)
Rows 3-4. 12sc (12sts)
Fasten off and cut a long tail for sewing.
Sew to the back of the bear between rows 21 and 24.
Fine Details
Embroider the nose and smile to the middle of the snout.
Depending on what you chose to do for the eyes
- Embroider the black of the eyes do that now (if you haven’t already),
- Add the safety eyes,
- Sew the black circles to the white circles.
For the pink blush embroider using pink yarn between rows 41 and 42.
